From April 1949 to July 1951, Phil Belbin drew "Flash" Cain for KG Murray's digest size Cavalcade magazine. Many of these strips were scripted by Ray Heath. Phil Belbin (1925-1993) joined KG Murray in 1947, providing a range of illustrations and cartoons for Cavalcade, which began as The Insider in 1939, Murray's attempt at a serious news magazine along the lines of Time.
